Bolt has the guts to be the new kid on the block, taking on the energy market. They’re the first in Belgium linking the energy consumer directly to local, sustainable energy-suppliers. Their platform allows customers to personally choose their supplier: a farmer’s couple from Lievegem, an energy cooperation using solar panels from Zandhoven, or one of their other suppliers.


Real people, real energy.
Shaved Monkey went looking for the truly distinguishing aspects of Bolt’s communication strategy and storytelling. To tell Bolt’s most unique and engaging story, we quickly ended up with the energy suppliers themselves. By showing the people on the other end of a wall outlet, abstract energy gets turned into a tangible and transparent product. By showing them and the way they generate energy, the fact that it’s sustainable becomes a given.

Bolt is Bold.
We applied this new, personalized approach, to videos, flyers, brochures, online banners and other communication material that we developed for Bolt. Everything was drenched in a bold, contrary sauce because a disruptive brand such as Bolt should definitely be different from other energy suppliers. Bolt is the energy market’s future: not very obediently swimming against the current.
