For equality, against racism.

Kif Kif is an anti-racist organisation founded in 2001 as a place where young people from migrant backgrounds could have their own say in the social debate on the multicultural society. Even today, that remains Kif Kif's core mission: to provide a platform for voices that are still too often missing from the public debate on racism.

"The new website and brand identity provide a huge amount of extra work enjoyment. Because it looks so nice, we also set the bar a bit higher for titles, concise introductions and especially photos. We also notice a marked increase in the number of enquiries from people - for example, to work with us. Very nice to see that it all really works."

Need for a new face

To continue fulfilling its role as an anti-racist media platform in the best possible way, Kif Kif's corporate identity and website were in need of a thorough update. A tailor-made challenge from the brand builders at Shaved Monkey and the digital experts at Statik, who - under the banner of The Kind Kids - join forces to help impact organisations like Kif Kif move forward even better.

Digging for the essence

Because strong branding starts with a solid foundation, we first organised a branding workshop. Together with the Kif Kif team, we delved into their mission, target groups and operations, and mapped out what makes them unique within the social field. In this way, we created a clear basis for rebranding Kif Kif in an impactful way.

The deep dive workshop at the beginning of the project was really enlightening. Together, we discovered what values characterise our organisation and how we can make them more visible. Talking to people outside our familiar circle was particularly valuable: it got us thinking about how we can make our online content more accessible to a wider audience. Since that workshop, we have been looking at how we communicate in a different way.

Vision becomes visual

Building on the strategic foundation, we developed several visual 'moods'. Together with Kif Kif, we examined which directions best matched their vision - and which worked less. With that input, we set to work again to develop a visual style that reflects their activist DNA: courageous, persistent and combative. The result? A powerful brand image with logo, graphic language, typography and use of colour, and concrete mock-ups showing how the style is applied on socials, in presentations, online and in print.

It (the website) now looks professional and user-friendly and is very accessible. Contributors are coming into clearer focus and that is definitely the way to go. A true representation of who Kif Kif is and what we do.

One style, visible everywhere

Then our colleagues at Statik built an accessible and user-friendly website, with Shaved Monkey as the brand guardian at their side. This kept the new corporate identity consistent and powerful throughout every digital corner. At Kif Kif's request, we also designed a template for the new policy plan - fully in line with the branding. A wonderful, inspiring collaboration. And congratulations to Kif Kif, which in the meantime also won an Ultima for socio-cultural work. Well deserved.
